While the summer months are enjoyable for many due to the warmer weather and longer days, for allergy sufferers they can be a complete nightmare to navigate. Luckily Walmart has a product that may help - and it’s heavily discounted, but you’ll need to be quick.

For helping to remove allergens and odors from the air, air purifiers can work well, but choosing which one to opt for can be tricky. The DR J Professional HEPA Air Purifier - which shoppers say is a ‘game-changer’ for allergies - has had its price slashed at Walmart, from $129.99 to $29.99, with a saving of $100.

According to DR J Professional, the air purifier “is equipped with H13 hepa filter, with a purification efficiency of 99.95%, which can effectively filter pollen, wildfire smoke, pet dander, hair, etc.” and can “effectively improve the air quality in your room”.

The air purifier “adopts 360-degree air intake technology, which can update the air of a room with an area of 615 Sq.ft/57 square meters per hour, covering your bedroom, study and other corners”.

To ensure that shoppers aren’t disturbed by the purifier while sleeping, it features quiet sleep mode as well as two-stage wind speed. Dr J Professional adds: “The hepa air purifier is 50dB at the maximum wind speed, and the lowest value is 25dB in sleep mode, providing you with a comfortable and quiet sleeping environment.”

For shoppers looking to add a little fragrance into their home, the DR J Professional HEPA Air Purifier could be just the thing. It “is equipped with an aromatherapy pad under the air outlet, and you can drip 4-5 drops of your favorite essential oils.”

Alternatively, Amazon is selling the Aroeve Air Purifier for $44.99, reduced from $49.99. This purifier has a 4.5 out of five star rating and has over 38,000 reviews from shoppers. Dyson is another retailer stocking air purifiers like the Dyson Purifier Cool PC2 De-NOx, though that's significantly more expensive at $599.99.

The DR J Professional HEPA Air Purifier has a rating of 4.9 out of five stars from 604 reviews and has proved popular with shoppers.

Although most shoppers were left impressed by their purchase, some were left feeling disappointed. One such shopper, who felt that the size of the purifier was too small, said: “It's tiny. The whole box fits in my husband's palm. I'm extremely disappointed because for what it cost, I thought it'd be a lot bigger. I can't speak for how it works because I want to send it back.”

Yet somebody else praised the purifier and said: “I am really impressed with how this air purifier has improved the air quality and ambiance in my dorm room.
